A homemade present is always extra special. So instead of spending hours googling gift ideas, why not create some delicious fudge - trust us, it'll be your most successful gift ever! Sarah from @bake.works has shared her Easy Fudge recipe, and we can't wait for you to try it.

Pssst... you can watch Sarah make this fudge herself over on Youtube - just click here!

Easy Fudge Recipe - what you need:

*you can increase to 2tbsp for a more intense flavour - but start with one for your first batch, our flavourings are concentrated after all!

Optional:

  • 1 cup white chocolate

  • Chopped nuts

Instructions:

  1. Butter and line a 20cm cake tin with baking parchment (I used a brownie pan).

  2. Put the butter, condensed milk, sugar and milk in a large saucepan over a low heat. Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves.

  3. Increase the heat and bring to the boil. Bubble for 10-15 mins, stirring all the time until the mixture reaches 115C on a sugar or probe thermometer.

  4. Remove the fudge from the heat and leave to cool for 5 minutes.

  5. Add the vanilla flavoured icing sugar, and optional white chocolate and nuts, then beat by hand or with a hand mixer whisk until it just loses its shine and becomes thick (this should take about 5-10 minutes). The longer you beat once it starts to thicken then the more crumbly the final fudge will be. If you like it smooth - beat it only until it comes away from the sides of the pan and sticks well to the spoon.

  6. Leave the fudge to set and to cool down completely before cutting.
